ObjectivesThe Association’s goals are to promote efficient management and productivity; to improve contracting forms and practices; to coordinate the work of specialized branches of the industry in management information, research, public information, government relations and construction relations; and to serve as a liaison among specialty trade associations in the areas of public relations, government relations, and with other organizations. The Association seeks to avoid unnecessary duplication of effort and expense or conflicting programs among affiliates, identify areas of interest and problems shared by members, develop positions and approaches on such problems and interests which are acceptable to all members. More About ASCThe Council of Mechanical Specialty Contracting Industries, Inc. was organized in Washington, D. C. on November 29, 1955, as a non-profit incorporated business representing the joint interests of the mechanical specialty contracting industries which included the electrical, heating, plumbing, air conditioning, piping, refrigerating and ventilating branches. Four national trade association were represented at this meeting: National Association of Master Plumbers (now Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association); National Electrical Contractors Association; Heating, Piping, and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (now Mechanical Contractors Association of America); and the Sheet Metal Contractors National Association (now Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association).
